Job Title: Electrical Hardware Display Engineer – LRU/SRU Systems
Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite)
Position Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $53.57 – $57.14/hr.
Position Overview
Contract Professionals, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Hardware Display Engineer to support the design, development, and qualification of ruggedized display systems for military ground vehicle applications. This role focuses on Display LRUs (Line Replaceable Units) and SRU (Shop Replaceable Unit) electrical hardware design from concept through production.
The selected candidate will support complex display architectures including LCD, OLED, LED systems and associated video distribution technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for display products
• Support hardware lifecycle from concept through production including requirements analysis, electronic design, debug, test, and qualification
• Develop detailed circuit board specifications, LRU-level specifications, ICDs, and test plans
• Lead hardware design, development, and validation efforts
• Support component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware builds
• Develop and implement engineering design fixes and coordinate cross-functional solutions
• Maintain accurate documentation of design revisions, debug status, and hardware/software updates
• Support advanced technology initiatives, proposals, and demonstrators
Technical Requirements
• Knowledge and experience with display technologies (LCD, OLED, LED)
• Experience with display metrology methods and measurement equipment
• Familiarity with display architecture and video distribution techniques
• LED bezel design experience
• Experience ruggedizing display LRUs for military environments
• Touch screen interface integration
• Head Mounted Display (HMD) experience preferred
• LCD backlight design and characterization knowledge
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of display design or related electrical hardware experience
• Ability to use engineering development and test tools
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
• Must meet ASR requirements for confined vehicle spaces
• U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with military standards and qualification testing requirements
• Experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs
• Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Work Environment Requirements
• Ability to work in office, lab, plant, and vehicle integration environments
• Ability to climb on/off and work in/around military vehicles
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required
