Overview
Our client, an industry leader in industrial and automotive solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the design and development of control panels and related equipment.
Job Title: Mechanical Designer | Contract to Hire
Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan
Pay Range: $40-$41/HR
Responsibilities- Design and develop control panels, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies using Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Create detailed working drawings, layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for equipment and assemblies
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, materials, and other critical design requirements
- Perform engineering calculations related to mechanical designs, including strength of materials, force, temperature, and pressure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers to refine designs and ensure project success
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in control panels, automation equipment, or industrial systems
- Proficiency in Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication processes, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
