Visteon Corporation seeks a Sr. Display & Optics Engineer based at our office in Van Buren Township. The role is hybrid, requiring the employee to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. No travel is required.
Responsibilities- Lead a cross‑functional matrixed team through concept phase, design and execution of early‑stage technology development prototypes and proofs of concept.
- Define the scope of innovation projects and lead activities with strategic supplier partners to deliver new, unique and differentiated technology solutions.
- Plan for successful execution of advanced technology projects, establishing resource forecasts, material expense forecasts, timing plan, and align expectations with stakeholders from finance, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and other departments.
- Define a project execution schedule based on inputs from electronics hardware designers, mechanical designers, software developers, graphical designers, and external suppliers or partners; monitor and manage this schedule and communicate status to management regularly.
- Improve automotive display technologies by updating FPGA and microcontroller code for image‑enhancement algorithms, writing papers that describe these algorithms, and pursuing patents; design and debug PCB schematics and assemble display properties.
- Conduct display measurements, assessing luminance and power consumption using tools such as oscilloscope, light meter, and multimeter.
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- One year of experience in the automotive display industry.
- Experience in FPGA (Verilog and VHDL) and microcontroller (C++) programming.
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design.
The position is hybrid; the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. No travel is required. Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
