Position Overview
Contract Professionals, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Fire Power systems integration for military ground vehicles. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, and release of weapon system components, turret drive systems, racings, and associated ammunition handling and feed mechanisms across legacy and next‑generation platforms. The selected candidate will support articulating, locking, and sliding mechanisms designed to meet human factors, safety, and system performance requirements within integrated vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate, and release system and subsystem mechanical assemblies
- Support gun and turret drive systems, racings, and associated hardware
- Develop articulating, locking, and sliding provisions aligned to Human Factors requirements
- Create CAD models, installation drawings, and detailed component drawings
- Provide technical guidance to design services teams
- Support procurement, prototype builds, and on‑site vehicle integration activities
- Read technical drawings and perform tolerance stack‑ups
- Apply GD&T principles to mechanical designs
- Perform preliminary design and analysis derived from system requirements
- Conduct failure analysis and provide corrective action solutions
- Write technical reports and modification instructions
- Collaborate within Integrated Product Team (IPT) environments
- Support concurrent engineering activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- (Electrical Engineering with weapons systems experience considered)
- 5–7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience
- CAD modeling experience (Creo preferred)
- Experience performing tolerance analysis and working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience supporting prototype builds and integration efforts
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs
- Knowledge of turret drive systems and weapon integration
- Working knowledge of FEA tools (ANSA, Nastran, LS‑DYNA)
- Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
- Experience in ammunition handling or feed system design
- Ability to work in office, shop, plant, lab, and test site environments
- Ability to travel to other facilities or military installations as required
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
US Citizenship required. This assignment is a U.S. Government contract that requires all applicants to be U.S. citizens.
