Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical power system design and development efforts for advanced capabilities, including:
    • Power subsystem design and integration
    • Power system architecture decisions
    • Advanced technologies trade studies
  • Work internally and externally with vendors and partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems onto GDLS platforms
  • Develop CAE models for complex hybrid electric systems – integration of HV battery, ISG, E‑motor, DC/DCs, and power distribution devices into a power subsystem model
  • Create and integrate CAE models into a power subsystem model to dynamically evaluate performance for various external factors (drive cycles, tolerances, loading profiles, environmental and road load conditions)
  • Perform component and system sizing analyses based on customer requirements
  • Translate system requirements into validation test procedures and use cases
  • Provide direction for team members, including technology roadmaps and mentorship
  • Approve and develop documentation (SSDD, SRS, CAN ICDs, and other artifacts) for implementation to the power hardware production team
  • Participate in internal and customer demonstrations
  • Work closely with cross‑functional engineering members to develop and evaluate critical interfaces, use cases, drive cycles, profiles, operational performance requirements, and overall system design
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track, and assess solutions to defects
  • Conduct research and evaluation of emerging technologies in hybrid electric systems (HV batteries, E‑motors, power electronic devices and architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies)
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, or related technical field
  • 10+ years in a related role (desired)
  • Experience with electrical power systems of military or automotive vehicles, including specifications, development, design, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of vehicle electrical power systems and associated hardware components
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid electrical architectures and system integration with different voltages
  • Strong background in modeling and simulation of electrical systems
  • Strong background in model‑generated coding applications (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS)
  • Comfortable supporting integration issues in a lab and on a vehicle
  • Highly motivated performer who works well in team and individually
  • Goal oriented and able to keep the team focused to task
  • Ability to multi‑task on simultaneous development projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and mission scope
  • Proactive attitude and enjoyment of a fast‑paced environment
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and people skills
  • Ability to travel when needed (minimal travel required)
Nice to Have (Additional Qualifications)
  • Experience with HIL and SIL bench level testing
  • Experience using Vector testing suite of products (Canalyzer, CANoe, CAPL) for developing testing interfaces
  • Knowledge of J1939 CAN Bus
  • Experience in design, development and integration of military vehicles
  • Experience with defense department processes and documentation standards
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GIT), issue tracking (e.g., JIRA), and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence)
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Familiarity with Team Center and Vis Mockup
