Mechanical Engineer

Horstman Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support advanced suspension and mobility systems for armored and specialty vehicles. In this highly engineered, low-volume manufacturing environment, you will perform concept development, detailed 3D modeling, FEA, and tolerance analysis, while collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. You will support prototype build, testing, and validation, resolve field issues, and drive continuous improvement from design through production.

This role offers international customer exposure and full product lifecycle ownership in a precision, engineering-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop suspension and mobility components and assemblies for armored and specialty vehicles.
• Create detailed 3
• D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs with appropriate GD&T and tolerances.
• Perform engineering calculations, FEA, and design reviews to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective.
• Support prototype builds, test planning, execution, and data analysis for design validation.
• Investigate and resolve product and field issues, implementing robust corrective actions.
• Manage engineering change orders and maintain accurate product documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, tools, and processes.
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to capture requirements and present technical solutions.
• Support full product lifecycle from concept through production, including international programs.
