Job Summary
As a Paraprofessional, you will be responsible for the preparation of business and individual tax returns, gaining exposure to a diverse client base across various industries. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and leaders to produce high-quality deliverables and build upon technical skills for professional growth.
Job Responsibilities- Tax Preparation
- Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Organize and review client-provided financial information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Use tax software and tools to input data, calculate tax liabilities, deductions, and credits.
- Research and Analysis
- Conduct tax research to interpret and apply relevant tax laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Analyze financial statements, records, and documentation to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance issues.
- Assist in preparing tax projections and estimates to guide clients in making informed financial decisions.
- Client Communication
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries related to tax matters.
- Explain tax concepts and implications to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide timely updates and recommendations on client tax situations.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations and deadlines, filing returns accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive tax files and documentation for each client engagement.
- Track changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their potential impact on clients.
- Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with other tax professionals to share insights, knowledge, and best practices.
- Support senior team members in complex tax projects, including audits and specialized services.
- Participate in internal training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry trends.
Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions.
Physical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working in front of a computer screen. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
TravelTravel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on clients’ needs.
Education and Experience- Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; 0–1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Actively working towards achieving CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure or relevant certification, if not already attained.
Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
