Job Title : Direct Care Worker – Engagement Center
Status : Full Time, Hourly,
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Midnights, 11:30pm - 7:30am
Location : Sterling Heights, MI. 48026
Hourly :
Base Rate $20.00 per hour; shift premium - $1 for Afternoon Shift, $2 for Midnight Shift

Provide support and care to individuals admitted to the Engagement Center, basic vital assessment; light meal preparation; cleaning facility; coordinating services (i.e. treatment, inpatient admission); documentation; monitoring of individuals; light laundry.
Description of responsibilities:- Obtain relevant history and related information from the individual seeking services and other pertinent sources to establish eligibility and appropriateness of services.
- Assess individual’s immediate needs by evaluating relevant information, including signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal and determine severity of individual’s substance use disorder.
- Provide supervision to individuals seeking services from Engagement Center.
- Prepare meals for individuals at Engagement Center.
- Sanitize and clean common areas and individual rooms of people being served daily.
- Responsible for the identification of treatment referrals/resources within the community appropriate to meeting the needs of the individuals served.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. A Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, consumer/community services, public health, human services, or criminal justice is preferred.
- Experience working with substance use disorders or related fields.
- Certificate of completion of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Coach Academy, including ethics.
- Demonstrates in practice there are multiple pathways to recovery.
- Familiarity with local substance use treatment services
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license.
- Completion of ICHAT check, National and State Sex Offender Registry Check.
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of Recovery Oriented System of Care and Trauma Informed Services, and Motivational Interviewing.
