TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One to three (1-3) years experience with Mac iOS/macOS, and/or Windows
    OS desktop support.
  • Solid macOS and iPad OS troubleshooting and support experience (user-facing and backend).
  • Must be comfortable and professional interacting face-to-face with staff, students, Board members, parents, vendors and other IT support team members.
  • Strong process orientation and ability to design/improve helpdesk workflows and knowledge bases to support efficient resolution of technology related tickets. Experience with Solarwinds Help Desk is a plus.
  • Experience in a K-12 school district technology role is helpful.
  • Experience with large-scale iPad/other MDM product desired, Jamf School MDM, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills (supporting end users across Mac Books and iPads).
  • Knowledge of Apple School Manager Systems as it relates to App
  • Store purchasing and iCloud is desired.
  • Must easily adapt to customer environment and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new technologies as necessary.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience desired, but not required.
  • Detail-orientation and self-motivated personality preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of iOS/macOS devices, and basic knowledge of
  • Windows desktops, Microsoft Office/Office
    365, networking, and project management.

REPORTS TO:
Supervisor of Instructional Technology

JOB GOAL:
To support certain Instructional Technology projects,
products, and initiatives

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages 1:1 Mobile Device Deployment systems, supports device management,
app distribution, and support, for 5,000+ Mac/iPad environment
2. Provides direct and 2nd-level technical support for iOS, macOS, and
technology across the District.
3. Performs Instructional Device administration, problem analysis and upgrades.
4. Monitors asset management system, including Instructional Device inventory,
hardware/software inventory, and maintenance of same information.
5. Coordinates timely-resolution of problems related to Instructional Devices,
computing hardware and software, meeting District goals and project deadlines.
6. Assist in configuration/provisioning of iOS/macOS devices utilizing Apple
Configurator, ASM, and OTA (Over-The-Air) management.
7. Responsible for monitoring and responding to technical hardware and software
problems utilizing a variety of testing tools and techniques.
8. Supports District laptops, desktops, printers, data, voice network components.
9. Completes project work for Instructional Device configuration, hardware/software
installation and asset management in established timelines.
10. Acts as a trusted Technology advisor to end-users. Monitors, responds and resolves
a variety of technical, hardware and software end-user problems.
11. Supports staff and student instructional technology at multiple buildings, travel
between buildings is necessary.
12. Adheres to prescribed technology project management, deployment procedures
and methodologies.
13. Provides timely and predictable status updates to a variety of Instructional
Technology projects and processes.
14. Coordinates with vendors to find timely solutions to complex Technology
challenges.
15. Conducts and participates in meetings with staff and support teams to
establish/validate project timelines.
16. Coordinates the delivery, configuration, and staging of Instructional Device
hardware/software to meet needs of Curriculum-related challenges.
17. Applies knowledge of Instructional Device environments.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work year = 185 days.
Non-union, Non-exempt.
Compensation/Benefits = $28.10/hour, medical only benefits in accordance with
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift/move 35-40 lbs. of IT equipment.
Travel 25% within district.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Supervisor of Instructional Technology.
