Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Student Employee - Office of Information Technology is a key member in supporting the college's faculty, staff, and students with their information technology needs. This position will provide outstanding customer service to customers in need of support via phone, email and in-person interactions. Student Employees will work closely with the full time technical support staff in providing assistance in their technology needs.

This position requires a person who is outgoing, a solid communicator, flexible, and is studying in a technical field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING :
  • 1st level computer support and troubleshooting for Faculty, Staff, and Lab computers
  • AV equipment delivery and troubleshooting
  • Enter and manage data regarding cases
  • Assist in event coordination and implementation
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and customers
  • Help complete team/independent tasks and responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and working accurately is highly important.
  • Strong keyboarding skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment and machines, including but not limited to copiers, printers, scanners, phones, and computers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous customer service experience helpful.
  • Applicants should possess a willingness to acquire a general understanding of the College policies and practices to better serve fellow students, campus departments, visiting community members and/or prospective students, as well as employers.
  • Must be enrolled at Delta College and registered for a minimum of six (6) credit hours.
