MPS Group, Inc.,is seeking an
Environmental Technician
to join our team at the
Stellantis Assembly Plant
located in
Sterling Heights, MI
. This individual will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

Shift: 1st
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.

- 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities and

Job Duties
  • Segregate, sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
  • Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal site.
  • Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
  • Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, labeling drums.
  • Assist Supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping, or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
  • Assist Supervisor with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
  • Perform weekly inspections of waste storage areas, spill response kits, and storm drain pathways taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs and waste response actions of designated production and non-production areas including collection. points of all waste streams the plant generates.
  • Document and inform Supervisor of any contamination in plant’s garbage, recycling and various other waste containers.
  • Maintain/complete necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
  • Operate forklift to move waste and to load/unload trucks.
  • Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
  • Other tasks assigned by manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week.
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Capacity to repetitively lift and move at least 50 pounds of weight during short bursts of activity.
  • Training will be mixed structured and on-site job training for the tasks at hand.
  • Extensive, in-house Health and Safety training.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER.
  • RCRA/DOT training.
  • Experience working in an automotive assembly environment and/or manufacturing.
