Forklift Driver – Sterling Heights, MI

Shift: 3rd (6:00pm–5:00am). Pay: $17.50perhour plus a $1.50 shift premium ($19.00perhour). Mandatory overtime on weekends as needed.

• Work in the yard, production, and shipping areas under varying temperatures, heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Operate standard diesel, propane‑powered, or telescopic forklifts to unload materials and supplies necessary for plant operation.
• Move palletized bagged materials from conveyor lines to the storage yard.
• Load flatbed and box trucks for shipping using portable loading ramps or ground‑level loading.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures while working.
• Perform daily equipment checks and minor service maintenance.
• Move palletized materials throughout the storage facility.
• Install and replenish rolls of bagging film, stretch wrap, top sheet, bottom sheet, pallets, and labels as needed.
• Follow shipping instructions and load trucks with the proper materials to complete orders.
• Move and stack pallets in the correct storage areas.
• Lift and carry boards between pallets while stacking.
• Align pallet stacks vertically and safely to prevent tipping.
• Ensure bags are not damaged during pallet handling.
• Examine bag products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Execute work according to accepted procedures and best practices.
• Change or refill propane tanks and diesel fuel as required by forklift type.
• Keep accurate records of production data.
• Communicate any concerns affecting safety, quality, productivity, or the work environment to the supervisor.
• Perform other work as required and assigned.

• At least three (3) years of forklift experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Valid forklift license.
• High degree of attention to prevent injury to self and coworkers; promotion of a safe workplace.
• Ability to wear steel‑toed shoes and safety glasses.
• Basic proficiency in speaking, comprehending, and reading English.
• Capability to work safely in varying temperatures year‑round in production/warehouse and outdoor environments.
• Ability to lift and carry 20–25lb. regularly and up to 50lb. occasionally.
• Willingness to undergo a background and drug test.
