Material Area Supervisor | Automotive Manufacturing

Join a leading automotive manufacturer at the forefront of vehicle production, where precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement drive everything we do. Our stamping plant operations are the backbone of the manufacturing process, and we're looking for a strong leader to keep material flowing safely and efficiently to keep production moving.

Job Overview

We're looking for a Material Area Supervisor to lead hourly work teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering material that keeps our stamping plant running. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment and wants to grow their career in automotive operations. You'll supervise UAW employees supporting press, assembly, and dock operations, with a sharp focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to and from the press lines.

If you're early in your career (0-3 years of experience) and looking for a role with real ownership and growth potential, this is the opportunity for you.

What's the Job?
  • Lead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams
  • Develop Team Leaders to meet corporate guidelines and improve material delivery processes using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
  • Coordinate daily team activities to hit key business metrics
  • Manage multiple work teams in a high-volume, fast-paced unionized manufacturing setting
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and record integrity
  • Maintain strong working relationships with both management and union-represented employees
  • Oversee and develop high-functioning teams of Team Leaders and Team Members
  • Focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to/from press lines
What's Needed?
  • 0-3 years of experience preferred (more experience welcome)
  • Automotive experience strongly preferred
  • Stamping plant experience is a plus
  • Experience with material handling, raw materials, pallets, lifts, or large PIV equipment preferred
  • Ability to work any shift in a 3-shift operation (shift assignment based on experience and plant needs; may rotate)
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Bachelor's degree not required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in a team-based environment
What's in it for me?

This role offers a clear path to grow your career in automotive manufacturing leadership, hands-on experience with World Class Manufacturing processes, and the opportunity to develop real supervisory skills managing union-represented teams in a dynamic, high-volume plant environment.
