We’re working with an established food manufacturer based in Michigan. They are recruiting a Plant Manager to join their team on Days in return for a competitive salary along with an excellent opportunity to take full leadership and operational responsibility for the manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the COO, the Plant Manager will have full P&L accountability and lead all functional leaders across the plant.
Key Responsibilities include:- Lead and manage daily plant operations, ensuring product quality, food safety, and production efficiency.
- Drive operational KPIs across output, cost, quality, waste reduction, and safety.
- Manage plant budgets, cost structures, and performance to achieve P&L targets.
- Oversee supply chain, procurement, production planning, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, food quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop site managers and operational leaders.
- Manage labor effectively within a co-manufacturing environment.
- Work cross-functionally with commercial, R&D, and technical teams on new product introductions.
- Drive continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support capacity planning, capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansion.
- Monitor and report operational and financial KPIs to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Proven Plant Manager experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L and achieving financial targets.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing standards.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Hands-on, results-oriented leadership style with strong accountability.
