Job Title
Nurse Practitioner (Children's National Pediatricians & Associates)

Salary Range: $ - $
- Assess and manage patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and develop individualized plans of care in accordance with protocols and medical supervision.
- Obtain complete medical history, conduct physical and developmental examinations, order laboratory studies, imaging, and interpret results.
- Maintain and update patient medical records, including lab, MRI, EEG, and abnormal findings.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, community agencies, and clinics to address patient care needs and ensure continuity of care.
- Perform minor procedures when indicated (e.g., ear irrigation, suture removal) and independently prescribe medication and diagnostics as approved by guidelines.
- Provide clinical expertise and serve as a role model for complex patient care issues, including direct management of patients in emergency situations.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and professional organizations; contribute to the development of standards of care and quality improvement initiatives.
- Document, communicate, and manage conflicts constructively, and identify system changes to improve patient care.
- Engage in research; disseminate findings, and apply evidence to practice.
- Lead professional development activities: develop educational materials, conduct in‑services, and mentor staff through NP certification maintenance.
- Promote patient safety: report unsafe behavior, validate information, and maintain clear, timely communication.
- Education:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an approved nurse practitioner program (required). - Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in pediatric care (required). - Licenses &
Certifications:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state(s) of practice (required); BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider);
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner–Board Certified (FNP‑BC).
