Position Details
- Status: Full-Time | Days

- Setting: 100% Outpatient | Adult Patients

- Location: Henry Ford River District Hospital
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Occupational Medicine team. The APP will provide acute and follow-up care for work-related injuries and illnesses, perform pre-employment and DOT physicals, and deliver other occupational health services as needed. This position is part of an established network of Occupational Medicine clinics providing team-based care to local employers.
Previous ambulatory APP experience is preferred, but new graduates will be considered. The role offers a predictable Monday–Friday schedule (8 hour shifts) with no call, weekends, or holidays.

Employment contingent upon credentialing and completion of Employee Health screening per HFHS policy.
Qualifications- NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
- Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure
- National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
- Experience in Occ Med, preferred
- Previous ambulatory experience as an APP, preferred
- NP:
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) - PA:
Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)
- NP:
National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP) - PA:
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
- PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
- NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
