Registered Nurse - Neuro/Stroke Unit - 36 hours per week - 12 hour midnight shift
Shift: Midnights 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with alternating weekend schedule
GENERALSUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
UNIT OVERVIEW:30 bed unit specializing in neuro patients. Some of the patient population consists of stroke/stroke-like symptoms, seizure, brain bleeds, and other neuro type diagnosis. In addition, will see small number of cardiac patients with a couple cardiac drips that are not titrated, and any other patient’s needed placement. All RNs ACLS and NIH certified.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- RN experience preferred.
REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
