Certified Nursing Assistant; CNA

Villa at Willow Place is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. This role assists patients/residents with comprehensive, personalized health care needs under the supervision of a nurse, focusing on activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercise. The position is collectively bargained under the union.

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with the nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.
• Provide physical support for patients/resident’s daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Turn and reposition bedridden patients.
• Ensure proper resident/patient diet based on dietary restrictions.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake.
• Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
• Note and communicate patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
• Gather medical supplies.
• Clean rooms and bed linens.
• Check and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Answer patient calls and respond to needs.
• Assist patients being transported to and from appointments.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Good collaboration and teamwork skills with the nursing staff.
• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Meet all health requirements as required by law.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff.
• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
• Current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of employment (preferred). Some facilities may require this.

• Walk, reach, bend, lift, extend sitting, grasp, fine hand coordination, push and pull, and distinguish smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical aids.
• Understand and adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
• Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry that weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations if required.
