Pomeroy Living Sterling Skilled is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead and oversee nursing operations within our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and proven leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while managing the nursing staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities on the unit to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide direct patient care as needed and ensure nursing care plans are implemented effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Manage staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and nursing activities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Proven experience as an RN Unit Manager or in a similar leadership role within a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to provide hands‑on nursing care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in skilled nursing care.
- Experienced in nursing leadership and unit management.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in staff supervision and development.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
