- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards to inspect or test product throughout the manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements. This can include dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical or chemical characteristics.
- Record test data, applying statistical process control procedures where applicable.
- Document reports to validate or identify details for deviations from existing standards, where and when required.
- Support calibration of tools and gauges as required.
- Operate various types of measurement equipment required to evaluate product conformance (i.e., various coordinate measuring machines, profilometer, hardness tester, optical comparators, various gauges (calipers, micrometers, protractors, etc.)
- Coordinate activities related to Material Review Board (MRB) or supports as directed. Support containment and/or sorting activities as requested for external or internal sorts as directed by the quality department leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.
- Ability to determine product status based on test and inspection results.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints as applicable to the manufacturing of metals.
- Some physical demand; occasionally lifts light to medium-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 25 lbs/1-11 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
High School or better.
ExperienceOne year of experience in manufacturing or engineering.
