Our client is a well‑established automotive manufacturer serving major OEM and Tier 1 customers. Their Sterling Heights facility specializes in precision CNC machining, finishing, inspection, and assembly of complex cast metal components used in automotive powertrain and exhaust applications.
They are seeking an experienced Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor to lead the Quality Department and drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do- Lead all plant quality activities and supervise the Quality team.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Lead customer, supplier, and third‑party quality audits.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving first‑pass yield, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Lead customer concern resolution using 8D, 5 Why, and other structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to improve process capability and product quality.
- Monitor quality KPIs and develop action plans that improve performance and reduce defects.
- Coach and develop Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors while promoting a proactive quality culture.
- Experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, or Senior Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience supporting CNC machining, metal manufacturing, precision machining, or automotive components is highly preferred.
- Experience leading internal and external audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- $85,000 - $105,000 annual salary
