Hallmark Field Merchandiser (part-time) Sterling Heights, MI 48314
The Field Merchandiser position involves working independently to showcase organization and time management skills, establishing retailer relationships, and serving as the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasional work with products from other companies in serviced stores may occur.
Responsibilities- Day-to-day engagement: Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory within and outside the Hallmark department using a provided mobile device. Communicate with your supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and respond to merchandising surveys. Maintain professional interactions with store employees, management, and customers and oversee the Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
- Holiday support: Support seasonal demand with additional days and extended hours around holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Some holidays may require working on the actual day, including weekends.
- Department resets: Participate in installations and tasks such as building/installing fixtures, relocating card departments/products, and resetting card sections. Typically, two weeks’ notice is provided for remodels; assignments may occur in evenings or on weekends.
- One Team Vision: Be part of Hallmark’s field organization and support other merchandisers in their territories as needed.
This is a physically demanding role requiring energy and a sense of urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, and must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You may be required to kneel, squat, walk, stand, and climb stairs or ladders.
BasicQualifications
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You can read, write, and understand English.
- You can grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- You can operate a digital handheld device to access and interpret information.
- You have access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
- You have access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
- This is a part-time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours are approximately 9–15 hours per week.
- Availability during the weeks around major holidays is required.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
