CFS North America LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our Food Ingredients Sales team. This role will be responsible for proactively driving profitable growth within the food industry by developing and executing sales strategies that expand market share, deepen customer and distributor relationships, and identify new business opportunities. The position partners closely with customers across marketing, procurement, R&D, and technical teams while collaborating internally with global, technical, and application teams to deliver value-added solutions and support product innovation in the antioxidants and shelf-life solutions.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, technical understanding of product applications, clear and timely communication, and disciplined financial management, including accurate forecasting, budgeting, and expense control, to consistently meet or exceed sales and profitability objectives. This position will report to the Director of Sales - Food.
Business Management
- Drive market share growth within the food industry by executing targeted sales strategies and penetrating key accounts
- Build and expand strategic relationships with customers and distributors across procurement, marketing, R&D, technical, and other decision-makers
- Aggressively identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts
- Consistently meet or exceed sales, margin, and profitability objectives
- Develop deep customer, market, and competitive insight and effectively share intelligence internally to support account growth and long-term business strategy
- Ensure all customer interactions with CFS teams are professional, value-driven, and aligned with long-term partnership goals
- Leverage strong product and application knowledge to support customer needs and enable solution-based selling
- Collaborate closely with global, technical, and application teams to maximize customer value
- Contribute to product ideation and portfolio expansion by identifying unmet customer needs and emerging market opportunities
- Partner with Technical/Application teams to align customer testing programs and capabilities with commercial objectives
- Prepare timely, concise, and actionable call reports and sales documentation
- Clearly communicate customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive insights to internal stakeholders to support effective planning and execution
- Deliver information to customers, distributors, and internal teams in a clear, targeted, and impactful manner
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and actively participate in annual budgeting and planning
- Manage expenses within approved budgets and submit reports accurately and on time.
Must have working knowledge of the following:
- Strong sales execution and negotiation skills with the ability to aggressively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities
- Proven ability to build and expand relationships with customers and distributors across commercial, technical, and R&D stakeholders
- Solid understanding of food ingredients, applications, and value-based selling in a technical environment
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear, compelling business presentations
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives to completion
