Typically, industrial distribution utilizes an outside salesforce, but at KBC, the inside sales team takes the lead to grow the sale, uncover the potential, find the client's pain and scale the business.

Can you feel comfortable, curious, and excited to engage in a conversation with a client or potential client to understand the scope of their needs?

What are they looking for now? What is their purchasing potential is? What are they looking for in their supplier?

Can you drill down from a general request to the exact tool or part a client is looking for? Do you know how to ask questions to get the information you need to help solve the problem?

Do you love reading catalogs and figuring out what goes with what? Do you love watching machining videos on You Tube? The bigger the lathe the better? Do you have some experience with tools & machinery for metalworking, woodworking, or plastics?

Are you Outgoing? Approachable? Curious? Driven? Dedicated? Empathetic? I don't know but I ll find out attitude?
Do you possess Sales experience? B2B? Superior Customer Service? Problem Solving Skills? Intermediate Computer Skills? Front Counter experience? Warehouse experience? Accountable? Proud of your problem-solving skills?

We have an OUTSTANDING opportunity in our Sterling Heights, MI location for Inside Sales. This person is the smiling face that greets our customers both on the phone and at the front counter,
Monday – Friday working 8 hours a day, 8:00a.m.

- 4:30p.m. No two days are alike – you’ll be working both at the front counter, and on the phones, in inside sales.

In this position, you will assist clients face-to-face and by phone or email, providing superior customer service with product inquiries. You’ll be entering orders, generating sales, up-selling, cross-selling, asking customers about their business, merchandising the show room and flyer items, and identifying sales opportunities to grow.

You are not an order taker, you’re an order MAKER - you are building relationships with our customers, introducing new products, mentioning value, and adding additional contacts within existing accounts that could lead to developing new accounts or to further assist them in other areas of their business. We are an inside sales organization, so you are the eyes and ears of the company looking and finding the opportunities for growth one question and conversation at a time.

Requirements:
Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years, or more, of inside sales experience, preferably with industrial sales; experience working in a branch based B2B environment, on a pro-desk, or parts counter. Tooling experience is not mandatory, but highly desired. CRM (Customer relationship management) experience a plus.

We are looking for someone who is high-energy, motivated, and enjoys being customer-facing. Strong attention to detail is necessary in this position. This position also requires a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer skills. Must have exceptional communication skills and be diligent In following up on new business. Closing sales and achieving sales targets. Understanding customer needs and identifying sales opportunities.
