The Account Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of security and fire operations at assigned Ford manufacturing and corporate facilities. This role provides day-to-day leadership to security and fire personnel, ensures compliance with Ford Global Security standards, site-specific procedures, and applicable regulations, and serves as a key liaison between Ford site leadership, Global Security, and the security services provider.
The position focuses on risk mitigation, emergency response readiness, staff development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while ensuring accurate service delivery, compliance, and cost control in support of Ford’s safety and security objectives.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of security and fire staff at assigned site(s) supporting the Ford account and may travel between sites as required. Serves as a mentor to security supervisors and officers.
- Ensures compliance with the Ford Global Security Manual, site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as Supplier SOPs and Policy Manuals.
- Performs all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Evaluates risk and ensures adequate security coverage for assigned Ford site(s), including compliance with post orders, applicable regulations, and the Ford Global Security Manual.
- Advises management during emergency situations and ensures staff respond appropriately.
- Researches and recommends best practices and key initiatives; ensures supplier policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
- Interfaces with plant and site leadership to review security and fire services, identify gaps, provide recommendations, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversees theft prevention initiatives and tracks actions through resolution.
- Assists in the selection, onboarding, development, and retention of staff in compliance with government regulations.
- Provides emergency response guidance to management and ensures appropriate staff response.
- Ensures security staff deployment schedules meet Ford operational requirements.
- Ensures security personnel are trained to meet Ford standards and expectations.
- Collaborates with Ford Global Security Operations to discuss progress, issues, deadlines, and consistency of practices.
- Conducts quarterly and annual reviews using the Security Compliance System; maintains corrective actions and recommendations.
- Conducts annual site vulnerability assessments to ensure Ford compliance and provides operational, policy, and technology recommendations to site leadership.
- Ensures Ford is billed accurately for security services and conducts weekly billing audits for compliance.
- Monitors compliance with regulatory, fire protection, and safety requirements established by Ford.
- Develops and maintains effective communication and coordination with external emergency responders.
- Ensures consistent administration of the Ford/Supplier Service Agreement and compliance with all applicable Ford labor agreements.
- Maintains records in accordance with Ford record retention guidelines.
- Ensures confidentiality and discretion of sensitive information.
- Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple responsibilities across resources.
- Recommends management practices to improve workflow, streamline reporting, and reduce costs.
- Responds to all site emergencies, directing security activities and ensuring staff actions align with site procedures and Supplier/Ford policies.
- Responds to fire emergencies as part of the site Fire Brigade, assisting with or attempting to extinguish incipient-stage fires using appropriate equipment.
- Ensures incidents are properly reported, documented, and communicated; identifies trends and ensures corrective actions are implemented and followed through.
- Maintains required First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Ensures proper administration of the hot work permit process.
- May supervise security staff performing fire-related functions.
- Reports to designated site leadership and Ford Global Security.
- High school diploma or equivalent (any deviation requires approval from Ford Global Security).
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible security or related experience; five (5) years preferred.
