Global Security Manager – Sterling Heights, MI

Working with the Global Security Director, this role will provide leadership oversight, direction and enterprise-wide coordination of global security services for over 8,000 employees located worldwide in various offices, manufacturing facilities and remote locations. The Global Security Manager will enforce security policy and procedures while ensuring the protection of classified information, intellectual property and sensitive government information. Duties include managing enterprise-wide security programs to meet General Dynamics Land Systems and corporate requirements along with federal regulations and contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for global security governance and the development, coordination and management oversight of security practices, policies and procedures that ensure the protection of GDLS personnel, facilities, classified information and intellectual property.
  • Develop and coordinate an enterprise-wide security strategy fully integrated with leadership teams and GDLS cyber and program protections.
  • Identify critical risks and prioritize security resources effectively.
  • Integrate and communicate security protocols throughout the enterprise.
  • Lead the GDLS Security Team and contract guard force.
  • Provide expert guidance, risk assessments and best practices.
  • Coordinate with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, Army Counterintelligence and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide executive protection for the President and other executives.
  • Anticipate external threats to employees, business locations and intellectual property.
  • Monitor global environment for potential security threats.
  • Manage Travel Security program and coordinate business travel restrictions.
  • Ensure overseas personnel receive safety and security training, threat briefings and protection assistance.
  • Develop and manage Emergency Evacuation Plans for high-risk environments.
  • Maintain corporate-wide security systems including CCTV and access controls.
  • Plan, develop and implement security programs such as emergency response, crisis management, physical security, incident management and investigations.
  • Develop policies and strategies for internal investigations, security operations, government programs, physical security and access control.
  • Deliver preventative programs to protect against financial loss, crime, sabotage, espionage and other threats.
  • Ensure GDLS classified programs comply with NISPOM and counterintelligence briefing/debriefing processes.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to security employees and contractors.
  • Travel required 25% domestic and international.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. citizen Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and make critical decisions regarding high-value programs.
  • Experience managing teams and liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Ability to respond to incidents or alarms after hours.
  • 7+ years professional experience in leading global compliance programs.
  • 10+ years supervisory experience.
  • 15+ years physical security experience leading and implementing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years law enforcement or intelligence community experience.
  • Leadership experience in physical and industrial security.
  • Experience in overseas environments.
  • Experience with physical security countermeasures and technology.
  • Ownership and program management of automation and technology implementation.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills.
