Job Description:
Location Details Dearborn, MI Headquarters Position Schedule / Shift: 7am-3pm. Every other weekend and every other holiday.
Coordinates Control Center operations including but not limited to the CCTV system, security alarm system, radio dispatch, access control system, closed circuit television system, alarm monitoring systems and security information management system. Operates and monitors the system, fire alarm system, card access system, public address system, and telephones. Makes public address broadcasts as required. Responsible for the overall administration of the card access, CCTV, branch alarm systems and other related systems including programming, troubleshooting and coordination of system repairs, upgrades, and/or expansions.
Coordinates preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of security equipment and systems. Ensures the training and certification of Control Center operators. Handles daily Control Center operator functions as well as clerical duties as assigned by security management staff. Monitors radio transmissions and controls radio traffic and broadcast discipline within the system. Receives and processes all incoming telephone calls regarding routine security and safety matters.
Dispatches security personnel via radio/telephone communications to the scene of discovered or reported security related incidents. Responsible for data entry and administration of the security information management system. Maintains activity log, report log, dispatch forms and other records as necessary. Ensures that all information contained in security reports or investigations are kept confidential. Provides clerical support and other duties as assigned by Security Management staff.
Required Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
Experience:
Extensive experience as a Police, Fire, Security/Police Department Dispatcher or Control Center Operator. Knowledge and
Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to include: extensive operational knowledge of access control systems, video identification badge systems, fire and burglar alarm systems and closed circuit television system excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including report writing and telephone skills evaluating situations and making sound decisions based on all available information responding quickly and effectively under stressful and very intense situations, including the ability to prioritize service needs under pressure of time constraints and workloads maintaining composure during stressful situations advanced operational knowledge of Microsoft office software including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook advanced operational knowledge of IRIMS (security information management software) and other related database systems operating fire fighting equipment, fire alarm monitoring systems, first aid equipment, computers, office equipment, and other Security equipment.
interacting well with the public and other departments possession of public relations and good customer service skills perform physical activities required to perform essential job duties and responsibilities including walking, standing, sitting, hearing, holding, lifting, carrying, climbing, reaching, seeing, talking, and writing utilizing other mental processes required to perform essential job duties and responsibilities include observing, identifying, remembering, understanding, and problem solving.
May be required to work various shifts as required by Security Services Management. Preferred Associates degree in Law Enforcement or a related field.
