Job Site Services is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic in Allegan to maintain, repair, and overhaul heavy-duty trucks, industrial service equipment, and machinery. You'll work on a diverse fleet while helping ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for the job.
Responsibilities- Inspect trucks, machines, and equipment to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and preventative maintenance services.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
- Repair or replace damaged components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Read and interpret diagnostic test results, technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Test parts and systems to verify proper functionality.
- Conduct test drives and operational testing following repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, diagnostics, and completed repairs.
- Order parts and assist with inventory management.
- Clean, service, and lubricate machinery and equipment components.
- Replenish fluids and service engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
- Assist with additional duties as needed, including field service work, equipment preparation, and vehicle painting.
- Keep detailed maintenance logs and report equipment concerns.
- Proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, or machinery.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, and diagnostics.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
- Trade certification or diploma in a related field preferred.
- Class A CDL required.
