Job Site Services is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic in Allegan to maintain, repair, and overhaul heavy-duty trucks, industrial service equipment, and machinery. You'll work on a diverse fleet while helping ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for the job.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect trucks, machines, and equipment to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and preventative maintenance services.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Repair or replace damaged components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results, technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Test parts and systems to verify proper functionality.
  • Conduct test drives and operational testing following repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, diagnostics, and completed repairs.
  • Order parts and assist with inventory management.
  • Clean, service, and lubricate machinery and equipment components.
  • Replenish fluids and service engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
  • Assist with additional duties as needed, including field service work, equipment preparation, and vehicle painting.
  • Keep detailed maintenance logs and report equipment concerns.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, or machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Trade certification or diploma in a related field preferred.
  • Class A CDL required.
