OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our team. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing
heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and/or commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
ResponsibilitiesField technicians directly represent Control Solutions. As such they shall act as per client’s requirements as they are responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and general supervision of the site building management system and its components including communication lines, controllers, actuators, system sensors, electrical and networking components.
- Site visit preparation: o Review job assigned.
- Identify any missing parts or needed parts
- If not already arranged, determine if Service Engineer support will be required.
- Check in with customer once arrived
- Checkout with customer before leaving site to ensure all issues are resolved.
- Communicate any unresolved issues with the customer and service manager.
- The customer and service manager will coordinate any necessary return visits.
- Complete service tickets prior to leaving site. Change ticket status accordingly. If
a quote is needed gather all necessary information needed and submit opportunity through Connect Wise
- Contact the office prior to leaving site
- Complete timesheets per CSI policy
- Overtime authorization is required. Notify the service manager prior to exceeding weekly hours.
- Follow all job site and CSI safety regulations
- Computer o Ensure correct program loads / VPNs are installed
- Immediately report issues to the IT Department and service manager
- Participate in oncall rotation for after hours service calls, as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC service, repair, or installation.
- Experience working on/servicing control systems on the Niagara platform, such as Distech, JCI, Honeywell, Alerton, etc. Preferred, not required.
- Experience working with various protocols, such as BACnet (IP/MSTP), Modbus,
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
