Job Summary
The Class B Aerial Lift Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining aerial lift equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems while maintaining accurate service records and adhering to all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, and repair aerial lift equipment and related machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake system inspections.
- Repair or replace damaged, defective, or worn components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct equipment testing and diagnostic checks to verify repairs and proper operation.
- Perform routine safety inspections on aerial lifts and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
- Order, track, and maintain parts inventory as needed.
- Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests.
- Operate equipment to evaluate performance and functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus.
- Previous experience as an Aerial Lift Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, engine repair, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with aerial lifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other access equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, repair guides, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment parts and tools as required.
- Position requires on-site work; relocation assistance and per diem are not offered.
