About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support heavy manufacturing customers, including steel mills and other industrial production facilities, with troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. We need someone who can be dispatched to customer sites to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced, hands-on industrial environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their workday, likes solving problems in the field rather than sitting behind a desk, and wants a role with predictable local travel — you'll be home every night.
What You'll Do
- Travel to customer facilities (steel mills and other industrial/manufacturing sites) to perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Diagnose issues on industrial equipment such as motors, pumps, drives, control panels, and related mechanical/electrical systems
- Perform hands-on repair, rebuild, and preventive maintenance work in the field
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site regarding findings, repair status, and recommendations
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and reporting for completed jobs
- Follow all safety protocols required for work in heavy industrial environments (steel mill and plant floor experience is valued)
- Work independently in the field while staying in communication with the office/dispatch
What We're Looking For
- Solid working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems — comfortable diagnosing issues on motors, pumps, and similar industrial equipment
- Prior field service, industrial maintenance, or plant electrical experience ; steel mill or heavy manufacturing environment experience is a strong plus
- Strong troubleshooting mindset — able to logically work through and diagnose a problem, not just follow a checklist
- Comfortable working in an industrial plant floor setting (heat, noise, PPE requirements, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local day travel to customer sites
- Good communication skills and a professional, customer-facing demeanor
- Willingness to work in a physically active, hands-on role
What's Offered
- Local, day-trip-only travel schedule — no overnight stays
- Fully paid health care for you and family
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Opportunity to work with an established, reputable industrial service company
- Stable, full-time position with variety in day-to-day work
