* ** What this job involves:
** We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our facilities management team in Sterling Heights, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical building systems, equipment, and physical assets to ensure seamless operations and support our client's business objectives. Working under the direction of the Facility and Operations Managers, you will play a key role in preserving the integrity and performance of refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and mechanical systems.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured, team-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, safety, planning, and documentation—directly contributing to JLL's commitment to delivering world-class facilities management services.  
** What your day-to-day will look like:
*** Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration equipment, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, hot water systems, pumps, valves, piping, and filters
* Monitor the operation of building systems and make pre-emptive adjustments to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failures
* Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, manage facilities equipment, order parts, and coordinate maintenance activities
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, including infrastructure systems and other applicable equipment
* Participate in special projects and scheduled maintenance shutdowns as needed
* Provide flexible support for off-shift and on-call duties to ensure continuous facility operations
* Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and communicate effectively with team members and management

* Required Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Minimum of 2+ years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, including mechanical and electrical systems
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work from heights
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including off-shift and on-call support as needed
* Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use email and learn proprietary or specialized maintenance software (training provided)
* Valid driver's license

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Universal Refrigerant License (EPA 608 Universal Certification)
* Strong electrical and facilities maintenance experience
* Experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
