Our client, industrial automation and control systems provider is seeking am mid-level
Field Service Technician Industrial Automation to join their team. As a Field Service Technician Industrial Automation, you will be part of the Controls & Automation Services team supporting on‑site project delivery, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance for industrial customers. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on troubleshooting skills, strong technical communication, and a safety‑first mindset which will align successfully in the organization. This is a potentially contract to direct hire position.
Field Service Technician Industrial Automation Pay Range: $35-$45/hr DOE plus OT, benefits, career growth What's the Job?
- Support installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of industrial automation and control systems at customer facilities.
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation‑related issues on production and material handling equipment to restore uptime safely and efficiently.
- Assist with panel checkout, I/O verification, wiring validation, and system testing to confirm equipment performance against project requirements.
- Help integrate PLC‑controlled equipment, HMI, VFD, barcode/scanner, and vision systems as part of automation solutions for manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Document troubleshooting activities, startup reports, punch‑list items, and corrective actions while maintaining compliance with customer, company, and safety requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, controls, maintenance, electrical systems, or related technical fields.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring drawings, including understanding panel layouts and technical documentation.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and network diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required for project support, startup, and service work.
- Work on real‑world industrial automation systems that support manufacturing, material handling, and industrial facilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, electricians, and customers to deliver high‑quality control solutions.
- Build confidence through hands‑on commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance responsibilities.
Develop stronger skills across PLC, HMI, VFD, industrial networking, and vision/inspection technologies. - Contribute to successful customer production launches and system start‑ups with clear documentation and follow‑through.
