The Ash Group is hiring a Software Test Engineer for our client, a global leader providing advanced systems and support in defense, aerospace, and security. This is a 12-month contract working in Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite) offering a pay rate of $40 per hour based on skillset.

• The Software Integration and Test Engineer plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of integrating hardware modules into a combat vehicle system, integrating software items onto Linux Operating Systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing.
• Develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing.
• Integrating and testing software with various real-time operating systems such as Linux/Unix derivatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field is required.
• Must have experience developing, analyzing, and/or reviewing requirements for safety critical real-time embedded software.
• Integration of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a must.
• Must have experience with Computer Networks (switches, VLAN, protocols).
• Testing and troubleshooting Communication protocol software (CAN, Serial, Ethernet) is required.
• Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed.
• Git and Jira/Gitlab Configuration Management tools experience is required.
