About the Role:Our client is seeking a Senior Software Integration Engineer to support the integration and testing of hardware and software systems for combat vehicle platforms. This role will focus on integrating software applications on Linux operating systems, building and maintaining integration test environments, troubleshooting complex technical issues, conducting software verification testing, and supporting networking and cybersecurity activities.
Responsibilities:- Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components within combat vehicle systems.
- Plan and perform software and hardware integration activities across complex vehicle platforms.
- Build, maintain, and support software and hardware integration testbeds.
- Integrate software applications, drivers, shared objects, static libraries, RPMs, and binary executables.
- Apply knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols to test, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem solving, and software verification testing.
- Support scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, and cybersecurity scanning activities.
- Ensure technical approaches are consistent with established engineering principles and practices.
- Ensure product outcomes meet customer, system, performance, process, and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to resolve technical problems.
- Mentor less experienced software engineers and support the development of their integration, testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Travel to customer sites as required.
- Support integration and testing activities involving combat vehicle systems.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in software integration.
- Experience integrating and testing software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience packaging software as RPMs and binary executables.
- Experience working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
- Ability to build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
- Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Jira, and/or Git Lab.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies used within engineering disciplines.
- Ability to work on and around combat vehicle systems.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553.
- Familiarity with UML modeling tools.
- Experience or familiarity with DOORS.
- Familiarity with CMMI development practices.
- Familiarity with embedded systems.
- Familiarity with VxWorks or other Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Familiarity with C and C++ programming.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Power Shell, and Python.
- Familiarity with the Qt Framework and QML for front-end GUI development.
- Familiarity with Ethernet-based protocols including SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP.
- Familiarity with Nessus and Coverity cybersecurity scanning tools.
- Experience hardening systems and applying STIG requirements.
- Familiarity with configuring and using virtual machines.
- Experience with architectural-level software design using Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tools.
- Experience using NI Test Stand.
- Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capabilities.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance may be required based on program requirements.
