As a School Sedan Driver for Drivergent Transportation, you will be on the educational front lines where it will be your job to safely transport students, exceed customer expectations, and ensure routes are operated on time. Successful drivers put safety first, are reliable, can succeed in a changing environment and are ready to work! These positions typically operate out of our own independent terminal location, and not a district partner facility.
Job Responsibilities Responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of students; including all duties connected to operating a school bus per all applicable client district policies & state/federal laws Ability to manage and maintain all students on the bus in a calm and safe manner
Report to duty on time and maintain route on time but in a safe manner
Physically assist passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency
Inform all appropriate personnel of problems, procedures, or incidents per Company/District policy
Keep the interior of the assigned vehicle clean and presentable
Present a neat and professional personal appearance at all times
Complete all required paperwork (including route change sheets, timecards, vehicle repair requests)
Maintain a professional attitude with parents, students, other staff members, fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers while always promoting company goodwill
Safely and efficiently utilize vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment
Position Requirements Must obtain and maintain a valid Michigan Chauffeur Driver’s License Ability to tolerate stressful situations
Able to have empathy for children and persons with disability
Extensive knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
Ability to operate and navigate a sedan or van passenger vehicle
Ability to effectively operate a GPSAbility to work outside in various climates and weather conditions
Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidentsMUST be reliable and capable of working a partially flexible schedule
Conduct all pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required
Proficient in English sufficient enough to rad road signs and communicate with personnel
Minimum Requirements Certification/Licenses:
Chauffeur Driver License Age:
Minimum 21 years of age
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Compensation and Benefits $18 per hour6-hour workday guarantee
