Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in Sterling Heights, MI. The Truck Driver will operate company trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently to designated locations, following all route plans and delivery schedules. Daily responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and unloading cargo as needed, and maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation. The role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws, as well as communicating with dispatch and customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

The driver will also be expected to keep the vehicle clean, report maintenance needs promptly, and represent F & D TRUCKING INC in a professional manner.

Qualifications
  • Possess CDL Class A license and strong truck driving skills, with experience operating commercial trucks safely.
  • Demonstrated ability in loading and unloading freight, including proper cargo handling and securing techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements, including hours-of-service and safety standards.
  • Clean driving record, strong awareness of road safety, and ability to follow route instructions and traffic laws.
  • Reliable work ethic with ability to work full-time schedules, including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with dispatch, customers, and team members, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods, lift and move freight as required, and perform vehicle inspections.
  • Previous experience in regional or long-haul trucking preferred; high school diploma or equivalent beneficial.
