Warehouse Clerk SummaryThe Warehouse Clerk is responsible for accurate receiving and distributing of parts and units to internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Understand the layout of the warehouse and bin / shelf location systems
- Retrieve and or put away parts
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and inventory locations to ensure accuracy of requests
- Follow work instructions for discrepancies such as damaged, misplaced or part shortages
- Operate all material handling equipment safely while adhering to all company and OSHA policies and regulations
- Work closely with team leader to resolve any task concerns that arise
- Perform routine and assigned housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe work environment
- Accurately read orders, locate inventory, and prepare for delivery to customer
- Verify parts numbers, unit types, and delivery method
- Pull orders for deliveries within the designated timeframe
- Strong attention to detail
- Accuracy in a fast-paced environment required
- Strong math and computer skills
- Ability to break through barriers and investigate and resolve problems
- Possess good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain
Physical Requirements
moderate to heavy work – required to exert up to 40 lbs. of force regularly, occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 75 lbs. of force rarely.
Working Conditionsthis position is subject to an inside working environment and will be exposed to:
- noise - loud, sharp, extended, impulse; up to, and occasionally more than, 85dBA (which may require use of hearing protection)
- working on elevated platforms, ladders, and scaffolds
- standing, walking for majority of work shift
- reaching in any direction, above and below shoulder level
- lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- performing work in a crouched, squatting, kneeling, or stooped position (body bent forward and down from waist) for extended periods of time
- repetitive grasping, pinching with fingers; repetitive pulling, pushing, twisting of wrists, elbows, and shoulders
- balancing while on an elevated work platform, ladder, or scaffold
- stepping up to work surfaces up to 26 inches in height.
