RE-1 Valley School District is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Elementary Administrative Assistant to join the team at Ayres Elementary School, serving students in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade.

This position plays a vital role in creating a positive school climate while supporting daily office operations, records management, communication, and building logistics. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with young children and families, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Front Office & Customer Service- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, staff, and families.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Welcome and assist parents, visitors, volunteers, and community members.
- Monitor front entrance security procedures.
- Assist students with daily needs, classroom deliveries, and transportation changes.
- Support the health office during staff absences or lunch coverage as needed.
- Process new student enrollments and withdrawals.
- Enter and maintain accurate student information in Infinite Campus.
- Create and maintain cumulative (CUM) student records.
- Verify required enrollment documentation.
- Assign student Chromebooks and maintain inventory records.
- Upload legal, custody, and 504 documentation.
- Process records requests and transfer student records.
- Prepare student files for transition to intermediate school.
- Monitor daily attendance and communicate with classrooms regarding missing attendance.
- Update student demographic information.
- Maintain student schedules, classroom assignments, and special area rosters.
- Assist with annual calendar rollover in Infinite Campus.
- Support October Count reporting and other state reporting requirements.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, labels, reports, and mailings.
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate purchasing requests.
- Submit requisitions and maintain activity fund records.
- Manage building mail distribution.
- Assist with copy machines and office equipment.
- Update school website information and digital communication boards.
- Maintain office filing systems and records.
- Communicate enrollment information with families.
- Send school-wide communications using district communication systems.
- Assist with registration events, enrollment, and family orientation.
- Coordinate classroom picture day materials, fundraisers, and parent communications.
- Provide tours to new students and families.
- Support teachers and staff with clerical needs.
- Maintain staff absence records and assist with substitute coverage.
- Assist with classroom rosters and scheduling.
- Collect and organize required staff documentation.
- Provide administrative support for building initiatives and events.
- Support Positive Behavior interventions in the office.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student, staff, and district information.
- Comply with district policies, state and federal regulations, and records retention requirements.
- Demonstrate professionalism and positive customer service in all interactions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office technology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Experience in a school office or administrative support role.
- Experience with student information systems such as Infinite Campus.
