• Assisting assigned teachers with instructional and physical student support.
• Delivering instructional activities according to each student s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and as assigned by certified staff, including helping design and maintain an appropriate learning environment with assistive technologies and multi-sensory materials.
• Providing instructional support to help students integrate into general education classrooms; communicate with general education teachers about student needs; support life skills such as self-hygiene and social/emotional development.
• Supervising and facilitating sensory and movement rest periods to increase student engagement.
• Assisting the teacher in implementing positive behavior plans and systems tailored to the individual student.
• Providing student oversight during arrivals, departures, breaks, passing periods, and other activities as assigned.
• Communicating with paraprofessionals and staff to track student movements, schedules, and locations; may travel with a student during transportation as needed.
• Assisting with personal hygienic needs, maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and student dignity; duties may include dispensing medications, meal preparation, feeding, or toileting/diapering as required.
• Collecting and reviewing progress toward IEP goals with SPED teachers and making adjustments to ensure IEP compliance and student needs are met.

• Hold an Associate degree or higher.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Successfully pass the Work Keys test (Reading Information, Mathematics, and Business Writing).

Reports To: School Principal, Classroom Teachers, and SPED Director.
