Working Hours
:
Full-time, 165 scheduled working days during the school year; 8 hours per day; 4-day school week (Tuesday–Friday).
Salary range
: minimum $17.30 per hour, salary dependent on experience.

- Assist assigned teachers with instructional and physical student support.
- Deliver instructional activities according to the individual student’s IEP, design and implement learning environment with appropriate assistive technologies and multisensory materials.
- Support students’ integration into general education classrooms; communicate with general education teachers regarding student needs; impart life skills such as self‑hygiene and social/emotional skills.
- Supervise and facilitate sensory and movement rest periods between academic activities to increase engagement.
- Assist teachers in implementing positive behavior plans and systems appropriate to the individual student.
- Provide student oversight and supervision during out‑of‑classroom activities (arrivals, departures, outside breaks, passing periods, etc.).
- Communicate with other paraprofessionals and staff to track student movements, schedules, and locations; may travel with student during transportation if needed.
- Provide personal hygienic needs: medication dispensing, meal preparation, feeding or toileting/diapering, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and personal dignity.
- Collect and review progress on students’ work toward IEP goals/objectives; collaborate with SPED teachers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.
- Associate’s or higher degree.
- At least 48 college credit hours or successful completion of Work Keys test (Reading, Information, Mathematics, Business Writing).
