Hagen Early Education Center is seeking a Part-Time Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) to support the health, safety, and well-being of children in our early childhood program.
The CCHC will work collaboratively with center administration and staff to provide health consultation, training, and guidance while helping ensure compliance with Colorado child care licensing requirements. Child Care Health Consultants play an important role in supporting early childhood programs in areas ranging from medication administration to children with special health care needs.

Starting Hourly Rate $40.08/hour (depending on experience)

This is a part-time/hourly position with a schedule determined by the needs of Hagen Early Education Center. The position may include regularly scheduled consultation time as well as additional consultation or training as needed.

Position Summary
The Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) supports Hagen Early Education Center in providing a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for young children. This position provides consultation, guidance, training, and support to early childhood staff regarding child health and safety, medication administration, children with special health care needs, infection prevention, immunizations, and applicable child care licensing requirements.
The CCHC serves primarily in a consultative and oversight capacity and works collaboratively with center administration, staff, families, and other professionals to support the health and well-being of children enrolled at Hagen Early Education Center.
Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate must:
- Hold a current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; current CCHC qualification through PDIS or ability to obtain required qualification.
- Demonstrate appropriate experience in maternal and child health.
- Complete the required professional development and training associated with the CCHC qualification.
- Maintain all required licenses, qualifications, and professional development throughout employment.
- Provide health consultation and guidance to the administration and staff of Hagen Early Education Center.
- Assist the center in meeting applicable Colorado child care health and licensing requirements.
- Provide consultation regarding children with special health care needs and assist staff in understanding and implementing appropriate health-related plans.
- Provide guidance and training regarding medication administration and safe medication practices.
- Support appropriate practices related to standard precautions, infection prevention and control, cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting.
- Provide guidance regarding child care and preschool immunization requirements.
- Consult with staff regarding health, safety, and wellness concerns that arise within the early childhood setting.
- Assist with the development, review, and implementation of health-related policies, procedures, protocols, and emergency plans.
- Provide or coordinate staff training within the scope of the CCHC's qualifications.
- Collaborate with families, health care providers, early intervention/special education professionals, and other appropriate individuals when necessary to support a child's health needs.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality of child and family health information.
- Maintain required CCHC qualifications, professional development, and licensure.
- Perform other health consultation duties related to the operation of the early childhood center as assigned and appropriate within the individual's professional scope of practice.
- Knowledge of child health, development, and safety practices.
- Knowledge of health considerations specific to preschool-age children.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, families, health care providers, and administrators.
- Ability to provide practical consultation and training to early childhood staff.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Hagen Early Education Center team.
