Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance, Operations Engineer
FLSA Status:
Non‑Exempt. Compensation Range: $30–$34 per hour. Benefits offered:

- Coordinate all maintenance activities with company policies, principles, and procedures.
- Confers with other department heads and manufacturing representatives.
- Confers with suppliers of maintenance materials and equipment.
- Develop plans for efficient use of materials and employees.
- Assist in developing reports to monitor key operating performance, including safety, quality, cost, productivity, yield, and variances.
- Review maintenance costs of all equipment and develop control programs to maintain and enhance the profitability of the operation.
- Review and recommend budgets to plant management.
- Assist in developing and overseeing the implementation of capital projects for the plant, including project cost tracking for major capital projects.
- Serve as a lead member of the plant safety committee and conduct regular safety training for all site employees.
- Assist the plant manager in preparing for all internal and external audits.
- Perform all preventative maintenance activities for the plant and keep accurate records.
- Respond to all plant equipment emergencies and plant downtime.
- Order all spare parts and materials needed for maintenance and maintain an accurate inventory of critical spare parts.
- Participate on all plant management teams as a key staff member.
- Supervise the feed operation and its operator located in the shop.
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED required.
- Degree in industrial maintenance, engineering technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting will be considered.
- At least 2 years of maintenance leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to use these tools for daily communication, documentation, and basic reporting.
Capable of following and communicating written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to make professional presentations to senior management in a meeting environment.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables at any given time.
