Nurse III Supervisor – Sterling, CO

- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner to maintain comprehensive inmate medical records.
- Deliver patient education, including self‑care techniques and medication side‑effect information.
- Provide individualized patient care in a clinic, infirmary, or specialized cell house setting.
- Perform routine and emergency physical and emotional assessments during triage and emergency situations.
- Promote safety and security in the clinical environment, including contraband control and instrument counting.
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and performance management plans; coordinate staff orientation, hiring, and shift operations.
- Recommend and monitor compliance with policies and procedures; act as on‑call supervisor and arrange for coverage or overtime.
- Current, valid Registered Nurse license from the Colorado Board of Nursing or a state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Three (3) years of full‑time RN experience providing patient care.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of required experience (transcripts required).
- Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing may substitute for two years of required experience (transcripts required).
- Effective staff supervision
- Clinical competence in offender patient care
- Maintenance of licensure and credentials
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- English language proficiency and clarity in written documents
- Problem‑solving and critical thinking to resolve issues
- Creation of accessible documents following plain language guidelines
- Self‑control and resilience in stressful or potentially violent environments
- Alertness, emotional stability, and mental resilience throughout shifts
- Stress tolerance, confinement adaptability, and high‑stakes interaction capability
- One year or more of nursing supervisory experience
- Registered Nurse experience in a correctional environment
