Cornerstone Credit Union has been “Rock Solid” since its founding in 1939 as MICRO SWITCH Employees’ Credit Union. Today, we serve more than 10,000 members and are open for membership to anyone who lives or works in the following northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin counties. Illinois:
Boone, Bureau, Carroll, JoDaviess, Ogle, Lee, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties. Wisconsin:
Green and Rock Counties. Family members of current CCU members also can join.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Loan Processor / Financial Services Representative located in Sterling, IL. You will play a crucial role in our lending operations.

You will be responsible for providing financial assistance, deposit and consumer loan services in a courteous and professional manner while providing prompt, efficient and accurate member service. Responsible for helping members navigate the loan application, approval and closing process. This will include recommending personal loan options to members and explaining their terms, determining risks for loaning to members based on their credit, and accurately processing paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Loan Documents and Loan Processing
  • Experience with Loans and Underwriting procedures
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with members and colleagues
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (Bilingual proficiency is required)
  • Prior financial services or credit union experience is a plus
  • Proficient in using computer-based tools and software relevant to loan processing
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in finance or related fields preferred
