In support of Residential Services, the Senior Manager provides leadership and oversight of program operations, staff, and resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Responsibilities- Leads staff and promotes a culture that values employees and engenders the trust and confidence of the Board of Supervisors, departmental leadership, staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Establishes goals and monitors productivity.
- Advises on policy and procedural issues.
- Allocates resources and completes projects.
- Assists with planning the short-term and long-term strategic direction of the Department.
- Provides leadership to ensure Department's goals and objectives are achieved.
- Conducts research on issues affecting Residential Services and reviews pending legislation that may impact operations.
- Provides professional advice and counsel to coworkers and shares knowledge and information based on areas of technical expertise.
Masters degree in Psychology, Business, Public Administration or other department-related area and four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including three (3) years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a government setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Professional/management certification in a related area and active membership in job-related professional organizations.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
Special Requirements- May be required to work after hours and on weekends.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate needs of the assigned position.
- This position is designated as essential personnel and may be subject to call or recall 24 hours/day and seven days a week.
- May assist at the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergencies.
- Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
