Ramp Agent – IAD UPS – Sterling, IL Job Summary

Ramp/Warehouse Agent is responsible for loading and unloading cargo, transporting cargo between terminals, handling freight, cleaning aircraft interiors, assisting with de‑icing, and performing other support duties as required. The role involves operating warehouse and ground vehicles in a fast‑paced, high‑noise environment and complying with WFS site security procedures.

• Perform tasks in variable weather conditions including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and noise.
• Load and unload aircraft cargo up to 70 lbs.; move containers up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers.
• Operate vehicles weighing 3,000–80,000 lbs. in congested areas, ensuring safe positioning relative to aircraft.
• Assist in push‑out of aircraft and towing operations, providing guidance to pilots.
• Transport cargo between aircraft and ground using 3,000‑lb. vehicles.
• Read off‑load sheets to determine cargo destination.
• Conduct aircraft push‑out and towing, engaging in ground‑to‑cockpit communication.
• Pull and connect water hoses to aircraft and handle overhead electrical cables.
• De‑ice aircraft at heights up to 20–80 ft.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum age 18.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Effective communication skills.

• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off.

• Work in high‑noise environments.
• Pull, push, and lift bags up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt.
