You will direct our network of 300 field investigators globally, guiding them to gather the correct information and collating their findings into official reports.
Key Responsibilities- Manage four to five serious marine casualty investigations at any given time.
- Direct and organize field investigators located in cities where ship casualties occur.
- Collate diverse information, including coroner and pollution reports, into comprehensive final investigation reports.
- Investigate a wide range of incidents on commercial vessels, ranging from minor injuries to complete ship sinkings.
- Utilize AI tools and technical writing skills to draft clear, accurate reports.
- Background as a commercial mariner or seafarer.
- Experience level equivalent to a First Officer, Chief Mate, First Engineer, Chief Engineer, or Second Officer.
- Familiarity with various commercial vessels, including tankers, bulk carriers, and passenger ships.
- Working knowledge of International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, specifically the Casualty Investigation Code (CI Code).
- Base knowledge of international maritime regulations demonstrated by passing officer-level examinations.
