Asphalt Paver Operator

Overview

An Asphalt Paver Operator operates and controls asphalt paving machines to lay asphalt for roads, highways, parking lots, airport runways, and other surfaces. This role ensures proper depth, grade, and smoothness of asphalt application according to project specifications.

• Operate asphalt paving machines to spread and level hot mix asphalt.
• Control machine speed, material flow, and thickness of asphalt.
• Adjust screed settings to maintain proper grade and slope.
• Coordinate with lute men, roller operators, dump truck drivers, and supervisors.
• Monitor material consistency and ensure even distribution.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Follow site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications.
• Maintain safe work practices around traffic and heavy equipment.
