Assistant Project Manager – Entry Level
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our Project Management team. The APM will learn and develop competency in essential duties and responsibilities and provide administrative and construction support.
Responsibilities- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
- Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, and ensuring all company and project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
- Maintain change orders, submittal logs, and document control logs; prepare required logs and other documentation for construction meetings.
- Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely.
- Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
- Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure the project quality control plan is followed.
- Interact with subcontractors to confirm correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Maintain the Warranty Log up to date.
- Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support.
- Technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Monitor other contractors' activities and progress.
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
- Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
- Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to identify and meet customers' expectations and requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and Oracle.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting to changing priorities.
- Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Professional interaction with employees at all levels, vendors, clients, and others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (plus).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction‑related role.
- On‑site experience and experience in low‑voltage systems (pluses).
- Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent.
Travel: Up to 25%
Working Conditions- This position is performed primarily on active construction sites, involving sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending.
- Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is typically low to medium.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
